Gretchen Suter

Dr. Gretchen grew up in Binghamtom, NY before attending Gettysburg College where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences. She then received her Doctor of Optometry in 2024 from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in Philadelphia, PA. She completed her clinical training at the Albany VA Medical Center, Carim Eye and Retina Center (Reading, PA) and private practices in White River Junction, VT and Portsmouth, NH. Following graduation, Dr. Gretchen completed an Ocular Disease residency at the White River Junction VA Medical Center. In 2025, Dr. Gretchen became a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Together, these experiences have equipped Dr. Gretchen to practice in all aspects of optometry, with special interest in ocular disease. In her free time Gretchen enjoys quilting, painting, reading, hiking and spending time with family. She is very excited move to Middlebury and explore more of Vermont!
